In addition to these features, it has a DVD drive as well as an LED outlined keyboard. It certainly looks like it could easily be a desk in the classroom of the future. As it is, classrooms of the present need something like this now. Yes, that is a slam on the education of today. I suppose that One Laptop Per Child is supposed to apply to those who live in underfunded schools like those in America.

I’m not certain when Sony is planned to go into any production, but it should be available in three different colors of blue, white, and red. Hey, just what a school needs to match its school colors. Of course, these desks cost $3,000 each, so maybe a private school could afford this.

Anyway, Anchor Bay Entertainment, who makes these 10 Minute Solution videos, is planning on doing some business on the Wii as they are making a Wii version of the 10 Minute Solution. The 10 Minute Solution for the Wii uses the WiiFit board, and has three categories of aerobics, cardio boxing, and other mixed games.

I can’t help but wonder why the 10 Minute Solution is being made into a Wii game when the Wii Fit has a very in-depth exercise program. I suppose that the 10 Minute Solution is probably the current exercise fad that will eventually go the way of Jane Fonda, the 20 Minute Workout, Tae-bo, Buns of Steel, and countless others before and after. I guess 10 Minute Solution wanted to make a Wii game before the fad dies, and before the new version of the Wii comes out.

Anyway, the 10 Minute Solution for the Wii should be out soon, but I don’t have the release date as yet. The price point is about $19.99, which is about the same price as the WiiFit Plus without the balance board.

It is developed by Seven45 Studios, a sister company of First Act, leading musical instrument maker responsible for making the entry-level guitars, basses, and other instruments found at such retailers as target and Wal-Mart.

The guitars that Power Gig comes with are reported to look like the guitars used by younger jammers, and they can be hooked up to any guitar amp. I believe that these games are set up to work for the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3, and my source tells me that there is some sort of “dampening block” that holds the strings in place, and the guitar’s fingerboard controls the game.

So, will this Power Gig make Guitar Hero and Rock Band players want to play a real guitar. I would have to say that it does remove the middleman.

Also, does it really make sense that our retail stores have shelves full of plastic instruments but nothing of the real thing? By the way, when Power Gig: Rise of the SixString arrives this fall, but will also include a microphone and drums. I wonder if those will be the real thing too.

It’s not too difficult to pick up on that there seems to be a common color among amps that you find onstage.  It’s not that manufacturers are incapable of creating a different color combination, it’s more that most bands prefer their sound equipment to blend in with the woodwork.  Well for the bands that want something a little different for a change, Orange has a whole set of brightly colored sound equipment.  I’m sure you can guess what color they all feature.

In recent events they came out with the Thunder 30, which is expected to be released sometime during the spring.  The Thunder 30 features four EL84 class power valves that will kick out 30 watts.  One new portion about this new gadget is that it has a twin channel setup.  It also has an FX loop, standard clean channel and a dedicated overdrive/distortion channel with shape control.  It appears to be a great choice for those that value both sound quality as well as looks.

I have a few gadgets that I think should have a power switch on them, but unfortunately you have to unplug them to turn them off.  I’m not exactly fond of crawling under my desk to switch something off, which is probably not something anyone enjoys.  For those of you that don’t want to have to reach for a switch or don’t want to crawl under you desk to unplug gadgets, there is this extension cord that can be shut off with your foot.

Solar panels being used as back up chargers are nothing new.  However, there are still a great deal of us that don’t have one.  Be it due to lack of funds, not enough justification or even just not finding a design that fits your life.  If you’re still just looking around to find that right fit for your gadget addiction, here are two more solar chargers from Ambientech.  There is the SolarFold, as well as the SolarFan.  Both of which would work just fine to keep all of your small gadgets up and running.

Apparently these are the first of their kind, at least in one aspect.  They are the first to use light-gathering spherical solar cells.  Now whether or not that gives them enough of an edge above the competition to get you to hop up and purchase one is debatable.  At the very least it’s nice to have a couple of different options on how these chargers open up.  The SolarFan comes with a special tripod and both of them come with a carrying case.  They became available last week and cost 22,050 yen or about $244.

Fortunately, BoostApak have not only figured out a way to fold up a booster chair into a convenient backpack, and they have designed it so the child is the beast of burden for it. I suppose that “beast of burden” is a cruel term, but considering that most parents get the job of carrying way too many things, it is good that the BoostApak has made their device to be put on little kids’ backs. There are times when kids actually want to help out their parents, and this would be a good way to get them involved.

The BoostApak is designed to ergonomically fit, or “to protect growing spines and encourage better posture”. It is good for children ages 4 to 11. You should be able to get the BoostApak sometime in April, but there doesn’t seem to be a price. I believe that it’s release will be only in the UK, for now.
